The opening ceremony was connected with the national opening program for the 2026-2027 academic year. In the solemn atmosphere of the opening day, the sound of the opening drum, beaten by the President of the Institute, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, echoed in Hall A2, officially commencing the new academic year and welcoming the new members of the PTIT family, the freshmen of intake D26.

A memorable academic year was looked back on through the video “Highlights of the 2025-2026 Academic Year,” recording the outstanding achievements of the Institute in training, scientific research, innovation, and student activities. At the ceremony, 35 students with outstanding achievements in academics and admissions were commended; notably, 5 freshmen were awarded special scholarships worth 500 million VND each. Freshman Bui Tuan Tai, the valedictorian of the 2026 admissions with 29.75 points, representing the D26 intake, shared his thoughts and expectations on the first day entering the university lecture hall.

The 2026-2027 academic year also opens a journey of special significance as PTIT begins its path towards the milestone of 30 years of establishment and development in September 2027. From that foundation, the Institute enters a new stage of development with many set orientations: promoting the Learn by Project model, building a practical ecosystem according to the Design Factory model, deploying AI teaching assistants, providing bilingual training, expanding the Language Hub with 10 languages, and strengthening connections with experts, international universities, and technology enterprises.

These orientations are positioned within PTIT’s new status as one of 5 national key universities in engineering and technology, and one of 12 higher education institutions selected by the Prime Minister to play a leading role in the development of higher education in the Capital. Along with the integrated master’s training program and 7 new training programs implemented from this academic year, PTIT continues to aim for an environment in which students are equipped not only with knowledge and technological capabilities but also with foreign language skills, creative thinking, and the ability to solve practical problems.
A highlight at the Opening Ceremony was PTIT signing and exchanging cooperation agreements with the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED), the Agency for Technology Innovation, the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST), Vietnam Post, VNPT Group, and Temix Group, witnessed by Minister Vu Hai Quan. From these signed agreements, the Institute aims to expand the cooperation space in research, training, and innovation, so that cooperation documents are transformed into specific programs, projects, products, and opportunities for students.

At the ceremony, PTIT HUB, an information portal supporting scientific research, startups, and employment for students, was also officially launched. The startup story of Pham Van Thanh, a third-year student and founder of IELTS Smart, provided a vivid illustration of that spirit: from the lecture hall, technological ideas can be nurtured, tested, and gradually put into practice.

In his closing remarks, the President of the Institute, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, affirmed that PTIT will continue to promote its role as a specialized and distinctive university in engineering and technology, while striving to excellently fulfill its role as one of the leading higher education institutions in the Capital. The Institute aims for an environment where the best knowledge, the latest technology, and the most practical problems of the world are brought into the lecture hall, ensuring that students not only study but also experience, create, and engage in hands-on practice.

For PTIT, the new academic year not only begins with the sound of the opening drum but also starts with a new mindset on the journey towards the age of 30. For the teachers, it is a journey of continuous innovation to accompany technology; for students, especially D26, these are the years to accumulate knowledge, build their character, and shape their future. And for the Institute, it is a journey to continue taking the intellect, technology, and values created from PTIT’s lecture halls even further.
